Scope
Move the Azure DevOps Boards project (14,212 work items, 6 work item types, 74 iterations and 19 areas) to GitHub Issues and GitHub Projects, keeping hierarchy, history needed for sprint reports, comments and links, using BoardBridge.
What's included
- A kick-off and mapping workshop: work item types, states, fields, iterations and areas to GitHub.
- Dry runs on a copy, with a review of the result before anything is final.
- The migration itself, run and watched by TruSpec, and a final catch-up run on cut-over day.
- Checks after the migration: counts, hierarchy, links and a sample of items reviewed with you.
- Restructuring the parts of the hierarchy that exceed GitHub's limits, as agreed in the workshop.
- Copying attachments into a repository you choose (BoardBridge Migration+).
- Mapping Azure DevOps people to GitHub accounts, including service accounts and former staff.
- 30 days of support after cut-over.
What's not included
- Source code, pipelines, test plans, wikis and artifacts (Azure Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans, Artifacts).
- Changes to your GitHub organization's settings, licences or single sign-on.
- Training beyond the handover call.
Assumptions
- You provide a read-only Azure DevOps token and a GitHub organization where BoardBridge is installed.
- One person on your side can answer mapping questions within two working days.
- The project's size and structure are as found by this scan; a much larger project may change the scope.
- Your team stops editing in Azure DevOps at the agreed cut-over time.
Timeline
About 10 weeks from kick-off to cut-over: a week for the workshop and dry runs, the migration (about 6 days of unattended running), then checks and the cut-over.
